Lobsters & Bricks

Fibers Final.  I wanted to crochet a life size full figure, but i the interest of time that was not possible (That’s what the summer is for…).  Either way I intend to use this new skill set, figure modeling and crochet, in my future work.  These photos are courtesy of the Tyler School of Art’s fibers blog, check it out.

Happy birthday to me.

Yarn bombing on the Say Cheese! truck.  As a class, we were challenged with yarn bombing something on campus and that happened to be the food truck that sits right outside of our building.  As my contribution I crocheted wheels of cheese that were placed next to the ketchup.  While the majority of the installation was taken down, the cheese wheels are still there.  On a side note the mice were not made by me, but by a classmate.

Paper man and dog.

A larger twist on Naoki Terada’s designs.

Finger painting is quite fun.

Another break from lobsters/sculpture.  This is my piece for the Graphic Design 2001 Bird Migration project.  The project is meant to raise awareness of the amount of birds that die annually from flying into glass windows in urban areas.  For my concept, I combined two ideas: power lines as a safe haven for birds in urban areas and birds representing musical notation.
